In brightest day, in darkest night...

Even as MLE is frantically trying to handle her intense workload, my work place is rapidly running out of any work to do. We were still good this past night, but it appears as though we are already about to start doing our work for next week, which is not a good sign so far as actually working a full night each night goes. Still, yay for shorter (if poorer paying) work weeks!

On another note, I have one or two days to get one of my co-workers a birthday present, and I'm not sure what to get him. I was leaning towards getting him booze, since at the best of times he enjoys drinking, and his four year relationship is in its final death throes right now, so this doesn't really qualify as the best of times. However, that seems like a somewhat lazy gift, so I'm throwing this one up to the group for further suggestions, or possibly for suggestions of what kind of booze to get. Hop to it, people.

listen to me, already

Hey chica, I finally popped in your DVD and checked out your grooves. I'm such a closet Kelly Clarkson fan. Haha, thanks for including her in the mix. The song "Emily" by From first to Last totally caught my eye (gee, I wonder why). It starts off pretty, but then he sounds a little too whiney/screamy in the end. If it makes you feel any better, I got a stack of Zach-lovin' that I've still got to get thru (sorry, Zachy). And I have CDs that I've bought that I still haven't listened to. =/

Addiction

Is there some edible that you are completely addicted to?

As much as I love ice cream, I don't think I'm addicted to it. I do seem to have an extra stomach just for it but I don't feel the need to have it all the time. I have to admit that I find myself more and more addicted to water ice. I want it all the time and I will go get it, no matter how crappy the weather is. I think just last week, I got it a total of 3 times. This is so sad to admit but one day while driving home from school, I saw a billboard for a gelati and I felt compelled to go get me some.

Girl power?

Why is there such a slim picking for girl superheroes? Most of them are pretty useless, it's so aggravating! I think we should demand new characters. Ones that are as well endowed in powers and awesomeness, as they are in nanas!

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice...

If we're doing the super hero thing I am totally calling dibs on the Green Lantern Corps. Oh that's right, I'm not going to lay claim to just Hal Jordan or Kyle Raynor, I'm taking the whole damn army for myself. Take THAT, whoever was going to try to say Superman!

Also, since this works as a suspiciously good segue, this past Friday I wrote up a somewhat lengthy essay on the decline of Marvel Comics over the past half decade, should anyone wish to read it. Check it out here:

That's right, you know you're all totally excited at the thought of reading all of that. And yes, I use Goebbels as my avatar there.

characters/aliases

If we do stick w/ the Justice League theme, should we adopt their aliases? Hehe, I'm totally being silly and procrastinating from doing real work...

Since there weren't that many female characters, may I claim dibs on Black Canary? Stay-C could be Hawk Girl or Wonder Woman. Kevin of course, would be Elongated Man. And Zach could either be the Flash or the Martian Manhunter. And no, I did not make these names up--they're real characters of the Justice League. Some of them are a wee more obscure. I'd want to be Bat Man, but um, I'm not a man.

the justice league

Wow, so I'm popping the "just us league" blog cherry. I don't really have anything cool to post--just that I didn't think Stay-C would acutally name the blog "the just us league." I was really only joking when she asked for suggestions.
