The tragedy of failed TV
Having just plowed through the third and final season of Arrested Development, it got me thinking about how bad my luck is when it comes to getting hooked on TV shows. I started watching Buffy, and it ended not two seasons later. I switched over to Angel, and it got cancelled that season. Firefly I didn't even have the ability to watch while it was on the air, thanks to Rutgers' shitty cable services. Arrested Development, probably the best sitcom ever made, cut down just as it was really getting going. I'm hooked on Rescue Me, only to have Denis Leary go on Opie and Anthony and talk about how he doesn't want the show to go on for too long and has been strongly considering just shocking everyone by having his own character die halfway through the season and have the show end all abruptly and awkwardly like that. I'm frankly a little surprised that 24 and Lost are both still going on strong; I'm sure that'll change, now that I'm into them.
Have any of the rest of you had this kind of bad luck with TV, or are my tastes so weird that I'm just the kiss of death to any show I actually like?
