Florida Day 1

So yes, as mentioned before, I got to spend the week in Florida at the loverly Boardwalk Hotel at Disney. This involved me getting up Sunday morning at 4 a.m. in order to make the plane, and the plane ride there was a tad rocky. Thanks to our efforts to cut costs by using Travelocity, I had a window seat in the next to final row of the plane, giving me a lovely view of the engine. There was also a screaming child on the plane, but I was able to drown it out with my mp3 player. That thing is worth its weight in gold.

I was not, however, able to drown out the child later, as not only did he and his family get on the same bus as me and mine, but his mother plopped him down in the seat directly behind me, where he not only screamed louder than my music could go up to, but he kept reaching over the seats and hitting and grabbing at me. Not fun.

Once we got settled into the hotel and whatnot, the parks themselves were fun. We went to MGM and the Magic Kingdom our first day, where I got to ride the Tower of Terror (I had promised my sister we'd go on this ride three times during our stay, which may seem excessive, but considering the last time I was there I went on it 7 or 8 times it's really not that bad) and Aerosmith's fun yet cheesily themed Rock'n'Roller Coaster. Also, since my sister had never been on it, after we had dinner we went on the lovely, seemingly neverending ride that is It's a Small World. I threatened to make it my new ringback tone to replace Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough", but Verizon doesn't seem to have it available.

Owing to our early wakeup times and my sister's general slothlike behavior, we went back to the hotel early, so this one's a tad short. More tomorrow.
